Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Lancaster

LANCASTER, PA – A collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV on W. Walnut St. and N. Charlotte St. in Lancaster City has resulted in a fatality. The Lancaster City Bureau of Police responded to the incident on Thursday, at around 11:45 pm.

The motorcycle operator sustained severe injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries. The SUV driver was also hospitalized due to minor injuries but was soon released.

Sergeant Christopher Kophamel and the Crash Investigation Team of the Lancaster City Bureau of Police are overseeing the ongoing investigation. The identity of the deceased motorcycle operator is being withheld pending family notifications.

The Bureau is actively seeking any witnesses to the crash who have not yet spoken with an officer or investigator. They are asked to contact the Bureau at 717 735-3301. Updates will be shared as additional information becomes available.
