Female subway conductor victim of hammer attack

NEW YORK, NY – Police are investigating an attack against a female train conductor in the Bronx.

On Saturday at approximately 8:20 AM, the incident took place aboard a southbound #5 train at the East 180th Street subway station in the Bronx.

According to police, an unknown male individual engaged in a verbal dispute with a 42-year-old female MTA conductor. When the train reached the East 138th Street-Grand Concourse subway station, the individual exited the train and approached the conductor’s window.

Using a hammer, the individual struck the window, causing it to break. Unfortunately, a piece of the broken glass hit the conductor in the face, resulting in a laceration. Afterward, the individual fled the station in an unknown direction. The injured conductor was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The individual involved in this incident is described as a male with black dreadlocks, black facial hair, approximately 5’5″ tall, weighing around 170 lbs, and believed to be around 30 years old. He was last seen wearing an orange hat, yellow vest, yellow t-shirt, gray pants, and gray boots.
