Gunman Killed in Home Invasion in Onslow County, Resident Wounded

ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. – An early morning home invasion on Aragona Boulevard turned deadly when a resident and a gunman exchanged gunfire. The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office reported the incident happened after 4:00 a.m. on Friday.

The resident claimed multiple intruders entered his apartment through the back door, prompting him to retreat to a back bedroom and arm himself. Both the resident and one intruder were wounded in the ensuing gunfight. The unidentified intruder later succumbed to his injuries at Naval Hospital. The resident, meanwhile, sustained an injury to his arm.

Other intruders reportedly fled the scene before deputies arrived. The identities of those involved remain undisclosed. The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information to call 910-989-4074.
