Two shot, one dead in the Bronx

NEW YORK, NY – Two people were shot Thursday morning in the Bronx. One of those victims passed away a short time later at a nearby hospital.

On Thursday at approximately 12:32 AM, the police received a 911 call reporting gunshots in the area of East 213 Street and Holland Avenue, within the 47th Precinct in the Bronx.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a 34-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the right leg. Emergency Medical Services responded and transported the victim to NYC Health & Hospitals/Jacobi, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

A further investigation uncovered that a second victim, a 26-year-old male, had been privately transported to Montefiore Medical Center. He had sustained gunshot wounds to the chest and shoulder and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending proper notification of his family.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
