Car thief charged in Marlboro, caught in the act

MARLBORO, NJ – A car thief was arrested in charged in Marlboro on Sunday morning.

The Marlboro Township Police Department responded to a report from a vigilant homeowner yesterday morning regarding a suspicious individual seen running down a neighbor’s driveway.

Upon arrival at the scene, Marlboro Police detained the subject. An investigation involving both patrol officers and the detective bureau, ensued, leading to the arrest of the individual on various charges.

The charges against the Linden, NJ native include one count of auto theft, three counts of vehicle burglary, and four counts of trespassing with the intent to commit auto theft, in accordance with Mayor Hornik’s recently enacted local ordinance.

THeir name was not released by police.

Following the arrest, the individual was committed to the Monmouth County Correctional Institute.
