Minor injuries reported in Macclenny helicopter crash

MACCLENNY, FL – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a helicopter crashed in Baker County on Saturday due to a mechanical failure shortly after taking flight.

The crash occurred at 12:10 p.m. in the field of Emmanuel Church of God in Christ in Macclenny. The pilot, a 68-year-old man, sustained minor injuries. Two other passengers, a 55-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl, were also on board the helicopter but did not suffer any injuries.

The crash at the intersection of South Boulevard and Eighth Street in Macclenny has been cleared, and the area is now open.

However, during the incident, there was a heavy law enforcement presence at the location.
