Teens among five charged in Dover shooting of woman

Dover, Delaware – The Delaware State Police have taken into custody five individuals in connection with a shooting that took place yesterday evening.

Arrested were 22-year-old Sabre Bratcher of Dover, Delaware, 20-year-old Jason Cruz of Felton, Delaware, 19-year-old Taron Marsh of Dover, Delaware, a 17-year-old male of Dover, Delaware, and a 16-year-old male, also from Dover, Delaware.

The incident occurred on Sunday at around 6:35 p.m., when state troopers responded to reports of a shooting at a crowded gathering held at the soccer field in the 200 block of Lewis Drive in Dover.

Upon arrival, troopers discovered a 30-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound. Furthermore, evidence revealed that two vehicles had been struck by gunfire during the incident. Fortunately, the occupants of one vehicle, a 30-year-old woman, and a 34-year-old man, remained unharmed. The second vehicle was unoccupied at the time.

Emergency Medical Services transported the injured woman to a nearby hospital, where she is currently in stable condition.

Eyewitnesses recounted a chaotic scene in which multiple individuals were engaged in gunfire. According to their accounts, one suspect fled the scene in a silver 2007 Mercury Milan.

At approximately 9:51 p.m., officers from the Dover Police Department spotted the mentioned vehicle and initiated a stop, successfully detaining all five occupants. Subsequent investigation led troopers to discover two concealed handguns inside the Milan, along with additional ammunition.

Law enforcement authorities continue to investigate the incident and gather evidence. The arrested individuals face charges related to the shooting incident, as well as possession of firearms and ammunition. Their identities have been released as Sabre Bratcher, Jason Cruz, Taron Marsh, a 17-year-old male, and a 16-year-old male, all from Dover, Delaware.
