20-year-old shot and killed in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD, MA – Early Monday morning, New Bedford Police were dispatched to Tallman Street following multiple reports of gunshots. On arrival, officers discovered a white Acura sedan at a stop sign riddled with bullet holes. Inside the vehicle, an unconscious man, later identified as 20-year-old Lorenzo Gomes of New Bedford.

Gomes was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford but succumbed to his injuries en route.

The New Bedford Police Department has issued a BOLO for a Gray Honda Civic, suspected to be involved in the incident. The investigation is still active, and the police seek information from the public.
