Juvenile Charged in Bridgeton Homicide

BRIDGETON, NJ – The Office of the Cumberland County Prosecutor has released an update on the homicide investigation that occurred on Sunday, June 25. The Bridgeton Police Department was called to Mount Vernon Street at approximately 8:50 PM, where a 16-year-old male from Millville was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

Last Friday, a 16-year-old juvenile was apprehended by members of the Bridgeton Police Department and the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office. The juvenile now faces charges including murder, conspiracy to commit murder, destruction of evidence, hindering apprehension, and obstructing the administration of law. He remains in custody and the state will request continued detention.

Detective M. Yoshioka of the Bridgeton Police Department and Detective C. Johnson of the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office are handling the investigation.
