Early Morning Shooting Kills Two, Injures Three in Paterson

PATERSON, NJ – Two residents, a 26-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, were shot and killed in an early morning incident near Jersey and Oliver streets on Wednesday, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office. The location is close to Little Lima and not far from the Great Falls.

Officers found the victims around 2:40 a.m., who were later pronounced dead at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. Three others, a 24-year-old man and two 19-year-olds, were also shot and sought treatment at nearby hospitals.

In an unrelated incident earlier, a 20-year-old and a 19-year-old survived gunshot wounds near Essex and Madison streets.

The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office continues to investigate both incidents.
