Reports of Shots Fired at Glen Burnie Playground under

GLEN BURNIE, MD – On Independence Day, around 9:00 pm, the Northern District police officers were dispatched to a report of a gunfire incident near the playground on the 7400 block of Furnace Branch Road in Glen Burnie. Investigations on the scene showed that an individual had discharged a handgun in the vicinity of the playground.

No handgun was found in possession of any of the five individuals present near the scene when the officers arrived.

Further search led to the discovery of several spent shell casings and an unfired round in and around the playground area.

A parked vehicle nearby was found to contain a firearm in plain view. The firearm and casings have been submitted for processing. The incident resulted in no physical or property damage.
