Teen Arrested for Gun Possession in South End

BOSTON, MA – On Tuesday, officers attached to the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested 19-year-old Givenchy Abreu of Hyde Park around 4:17 PM. The arrest occurred in the vicinity of 26 Aguadilla Street in the South End.

Patrol officers noticed a car with overly dark tinted windows and chose to inspect further. A loaded Glock 30 firearm with an obscured serial number and eleven rounds of ammunition were discovered during the investigation.

Abreu faces charges for unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, and firearm with an altered serial number. His arraignment is expected to take place in Boston Municipal Court.
