Auto-Theft Suspects Arrested in Silver Spring

SILVER SPRING, MD – On Wednesday, the Montgomery County Department of Police’s Major Crimes Division – Auto Crime Enforcement Section (ACES) arrested two individuals in possession of a stolen vehicle.

The suspects, identified as Jeferson Figueroa, 20, of Capitol Heights, and Steven Becerra, 19, of Cheverly, MD, were apprehended as they tried to drive away in a stolen Lexus IS300 on the 13800 block of Avonshire Drive.

The stolen vehicle was traced back to Prince George’s County. Another vehicle, a Hyundai Elantra stolen from Montgomery County, was found in close proximity to the scene. Figueroa and Becerra were charged with multiple auto-theft related offenses and are currently in the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
