Fatal Motorcycle Collision on Milestone Manor Lane Under Investigation

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – A traffic incident on Sunday, claimed the life of a 24-year-old man from Clarksburg. At around 6:13 p.m., 5th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue teams were dispatched to the crossroads of Frederick Rd. and Milestone Manor Ln. following a report of a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle.

Based on initial findings, the Collision Reconstruction Unit detectives determined that the motorcyclist, operating a black 2021 Yamaha MT09, was heading southbound on Frederick Rd. As he neared the intersection with Milestone Manor Ln., he collided with a white 2017 Toyota Prius making a left turn. The cause of the collision is still being examined.

The operator of the Prius and a passenger received medical attention for minor injuries at a nearby hospital. The motorcyclist, identified as Elijah Isaiah Shand Thweatt, of Clarksburg, was rushed to the same hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
