New Castle Man Arrested Following Armed Menacing Incident at Motel

NEW CASTLE, DE – On Sunday, Anthony Holmes, a 37-year-old resident of New Castle, was arrested following an incident at the Hollywood Motel located at 145 S. Dupont Highway. At around 2:41 a.m., troopers were dispatched to the motel regarding an aggravated menacing incident.

On arrival, troopers encountered a 34-year-old woman who reported being yelled at by another guest, who was brandishing a knife. The guest, identified as Holmes, was discovered with a partially concealed firearm in his pocket.

Holmes was arrested, and the loaded firearm along with the knife was seized. Holmes was then transported to Troop 2 and charged with crimes including carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and aggravated menacing. He is currently held at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $28,000 cash bond.
