Woman carjacked at gunpoint in New Castle

NEW CASTLE, DE – Early on Monday, the Delaware State Police commenced an investigation into a reported carjacking. At approximately 3:58 a.m., troopers responded to a distress call near New Castle Avenue and Cherry Lane.

A 42-year-old woman reported that while traveling on New Castle Avenue, her vehicle was rear-ended multiple times by three unknown males. At a stop, two of the suspects demanded her to exit the vehicle, pointing firearms at her. She complied, and the suspects absconded with her car. Both vehicles were last seen heading north on New Castle Avenue. The victim was left unharmed.
