Man Arrested After Shooting Himself With Illegal Gun

MILLSBORO, DE – On Monday, at about 10:15 am, Delaware State Police apprehended 44-year-old Robert Bishop of Millsboro following a shooting incident at his residence.

Bishop, a convicted felon, accidentally shot himself in the wrist in his garage. An employee, who was also present, was unharmed.

Following discharge from the hospital, Bishop was arrested on multiple charges, including possession of a firearm during a felony and possession of ammunition by a person prohibited.

Upon searching Bishop’s residence, the police recovered a firearm, ammunition, and a crossbow. Bishop was arraigned and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution.
