Police Make Gun Arrest After Questioning Fleeing Men

ROXBURY, MA – Angel Ruiz, 19, of Dorchester, was arrested by officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) on Tuesday. While on patrol near Leyland Street, officers noticed three males vacating the area. Upon recognizing one individual with an active warrant, officers attempted an arrest, initiating a foot chase when Ruiz fled.

A firearm was recovered from behind a construction vehicle in the area, identified as a Springfield Armory XP with one round in the chamber and ten rounds in the magazine.

Ruiz is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, and a large capacity feeding device, in addition to six outstanding warrants. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
