Early Morning Shooting in Layhill under Investigation

LAYHILL, MD – Montgomery County Department of Police is investigating an early morning shooting that left several injured in Layhill. On Tuesday, around 12:15 am, officers responded to reports of gunshots fired near the Sole D’italia restaurant in the Norbeck-Layhill community.

Upon arrival, officers found five victims, three females and two males, all adults, who were subsequently transported to area hospitals. The officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue provided medical assistance at the scene. The shooting appeared to be a result of an argument inside the restaurant which escalated outside in the parking lot.
