Man Arrested in Connection with Fatal Jersey City Shooting

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ – Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit arrested Anton Mair, a 28-year-old Jersey City resident.

He was arrested on Thursday, in connection with the shooting death of Khalil King.

The incident occurred on Danforth Avenue in Jersey City on Sunday, April 23.

At approximately 12 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department received reports of gunfire on Danforth Avenue.

Responding officers found King, a 23-year-old man from Fayetteville, North Carolina, unresponsive inside a retail establishment at 152 Danforth Avenue, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mair is facing charges of murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

He was apprehended at a residence on East 12th Street in Bayonne and is currently held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.
