Man Rescued Last Week by Lifeguards Passes

Neptune, NJ – Colin Martin, a 19-year-old resident of upstate New York, has passed away after being pulled unconscious from the ocean a week ago.

Police Chief Leonard Guida confirmed the sad news, stating that Colin Martin died on Thursday at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he had been taken after the incident on July 7.

Martin was visiting the Jersey Shore with three friends.

They had ventured to Kent Avenue Beach shortly after 5 p.m., a time when no lifeguards were on duty, as according to Guida.

Despite the efforts to revive him after being submerged in the ocean for approximately 20 minutes off the coast of Bradley Beach, Colin Martin’s life could not be saved.

It has been reported that Martin had recently graduated a military boot camp, but the branch of service was not identified.
