Teen Shot and Killed in Kensington

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A 19-year-old man from Northeast Philadelphia was killed after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds in Kensington. On Thursday, just before midnight, police were alerted to an incident on the 2700 block of A Street.

Arriving officers found the young man suffering from multiple gunshot injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:57 a.m. Numerous shell casings were found at the scene along with traces of blood on the street.

Police believe that the victim was not a local resident, but from Northeast Philadelphia. There is currently no information on a potential motive or suspect. Local area surveillance footage is being reviewed by the homicide unit to capture any evidence related to the incident.
