Two Arrested for Stealing HVAC Units in Wilmington

Wilmington, DE – The Delaware State Police have apprehended 48-year-old Michael Napolitano and 60-year-old Ronald Ruthardt, both residents of Wilmington, for felony theft. The arrests took place this morning in Wilmington.

On July 17, 2023, at approximately 2:12 a.m., troopers responded to a report of two men stealing parts from air conditioning units at an office building on the 2900 block of Concord Pike.

Upon arrival, the troopers witnessed Michael Napolitano and Ronald Ruthardt dismantling an air conditioning unit.

Upon spotting the law enforcement presence, Napolitano fled the scene on foot while Ruthardt remained and was subsequently taken into custody without incident.

Troopers, assisted by K9 Chico, conducted a search of the area and located Napolitano hiding in the nearby neighborhood behind the business. He was apprehended without further issue.

Following their arrests, Napolitano and Ruthardt were transported to Troop 1 for processing. They have been charged accordingly.
