44-Year-Old Shot Multiple Times Dead In D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a 44-year-old man near Catholic University in Northeast, D.C. last night.

Shortly before 10 pm, officers arrived at the 7th and Monroe Street intersection to investigate a shooting report. Police discovered the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was unresponsive at the scene. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

44-year-old Robert Lavender of D.C. was identified as the victim.

The motive behind the shooting had not yet been determined. Law enforcement officials were actively searching for a man in his 20s, described as wearing a black hooded shirt.
