Canton Man Dies Following Early Morning Shooting

CANTON, OH – Kody M. Ingram, a 32-year-old Canton resident, was found shot at 423 Gobel Ave. NE, between Georgetown Road NE and Fourth Street NE, on Monday morning.

The Canton Police Department reported that officers had been dispatched to the scene at 3:58 a.m., where they found Ingram with a chest gunshot wound. He was taken to the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 4:43 a.m.

Alaya Lynch, a resident of the home where the shooting occurred and Ingram’s fiancée, called the police after the incident.

According to Lynch, Ingram was a loving father figure to her three children and also had a 10-year-old daughter. She was asleep when the shooting occurred and does not know what led to it.

The Canton Police Department has not disclosed whether any arrests have been made in connection to the case. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s office.
