Pedestrian Fatality Reported in Early Morning Collision in Capitol Heights

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD – An ongoing investigation is currently underway by the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit following a fatal collision involving a pedestrian.

The incident occurred in Capitol Heights early Monday morning. The identity of the deceased pedestrian will be revealed once it is confirmed and her family has been notified.

On Monday, around 4:30 am, officers attended to the scene at the 7200 block of Central Avenue. Initial investigation indicates that the driver of an SUV was moving eastbound on Central Avenue and for undisclosed reasons, collided with the pedestrian on the roadway. The pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene, while the driver remained.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is in charge of investigating all fatal crashes within Capitol Heights. They are currently seeking information related to this case, urging anyone with useful information to reach out to the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at 301-731-4422.
