Woman Charged with Manslaughter in Charlotte Shooting

CHARLOTTE, NC – On Tuesday morning, after 5 am, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to a 911 call. The call reported a fatal incident near the 500 block of Porter Street in a residential district of northwest Charlotte.

The officers found 25-year-old Tyra Crosby, inflicted with gunshot wounds. She was declared dead at the scene.

Currently, the investigation involves interviews with potential witnesses. One of them, who was present at the crime scene and not considered a suspect, is being interviewed at the department’s Uptown headquarters. Another woman’s involvement is also under inquiry.

Following the investigation, officers disclosed that Stephanie Alexander, 51, is charged with Voluntary Manslaughter related to this incident. She is presently being detained on a $250,000 bond.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is carrying out an in-depth investigation of the case. Further details will be released as the inquiry progresses.
