Bronx Resident Charged for Murder of 56-Year-Old Man

BRONX, NY – Jeremy Mendez, a 30-year-old man from Bronx, has been arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including murder, manslaughter, and weapon-related offenses. The charges were made on Thursday, following the fatal shooting of a Bronx resident.

On Monday, the Police Department responded to a distress call concerning a shooting incident on Simpson Street. They discovered Kevin Roberts, a 56-year-old man, unconscious and critically wounded from multiple gunshot injuries. Roberts was rushed to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was pronounced dead.

This incident sparked an investigation that led to the subsequent arrest of Mendez. The case remains under investigation, with no additional arrests made at this time.

Mendez is currently facing charges for murder, manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal use of a firearm.

The investigation is ongoing, and the Bronx Police Department encourages anyone with useful information to come forward.
