Elkton Man Arrested for False Report of Road Rage Incident

NEWARK, DE – On Wednesday, at approximately 5:23 pm, Newark Police were dispatched to E. Main Street and South College Ave following a report of a road rage incident.

Kasai Davenport, 26, of Elkton MD, claimed to be a victim and stated that another driver committed several traffic violations and brandished a firearm.

However, upon reviewing security footage from the Newark Public Safety Camera System, officers found Davenport’s report to be false. There was no evidence of a firearm during the alleged incident.

Davenport was issued an arrest warrant and turned himself in to the Police on Thursday. He faces one count of falsely reporting an incident to law enforcement that did not occur.

Davenport was subsequently released on his own recognizance, and a court date is pending.
