One Injured, Teen Shot and Killed in Queens

NYPD crime scene investigative unit.

NEW YORK CITY, NY – In the early hours of Sunday, New York City Police Department officers responded to a distress call regarding a shooting at 79-45 Metropolitan Avenue.

The officers found a 19-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the torso upon their arrival.

The critically injured teenager was immediately transported by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst.

Despite efforts to save his life, he was pronounced dead. Another victim, a 21-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the arm, was independently taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. His condition is reported as stable.

At this stage, the police department has made no arrests and the investigation is ongoing. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
