Police Investigating Multiple Related Robberies In Central Park

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is asking for public assistance in identifying individuals connected to a series of robberies within the Central Park area.

The first incident occurred on Sunday, July 16, around 6:23 am.

The victim, a 54-year-old male, was approached by five unknown individuals inside Central Park at Wollman Rink. The suspects displayed a crowbar, demanded money, and made off with $200.

The second incident occurred the next day, Monday, July 17, around 5:20 am. A 61-year-old male victim was walking near Beekman Place and East 51 Street when he was approached by five individuals.

The suspects forcibly took the victim’s phone, removed $6 from his pocket, and slapped him before fleeing the scene. The victim was not seriously injured in the incident.
