Armed Suspect Shot and Killed by Allentown Police

ALLENTOWN, PA – On Monday, Allentown Police Department officers responded to a call regarding a man brandishing a firearm near 6th St. and Turner St. around 3:40 a.m.

The man attempted to evade capture by fleeing on foot.

As officers pursued, the man opened fire at them. Allentown police officers returned fire, injuring the suspect. First aid was administered on the scene, and the suspect was transported by Allentown EMS to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and the Allentown Police Department is asking anyone with information to call detectives at 610-437-7721 or the Police Desk at 610-437-7753 (ext. 1).
