Newark Chaplains Use Prayer to Heal After Deadly Fire Takes Lives of Firefighters

NEWARK, NJ – Newark’s Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé recently hosted an interfaith prayer event.

The event was aimed at supporting the city’s firefighters, police officers, and members of the Office of Emergency Management.

Rev. Ronald Slaughter, the Deputy Director, and Newark Council Member Rev. Louise Scott-Rountree joined in this spiritual gathering.

Chaplains from various religious traditions also joined the event.

The interfaith prayer event was held on last Monday.
