Suspect Arrested in Connection with Brooklyn Murder

BROOKLYN, NY – Justin Edwards, a 19-year-old man from Brooklyn, was arrested and charged last Friday, around 6:00 pm, following an investigation by the New York City Police Department.

Edwards is facing multiple charges, including murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of a firearm. These charges stem from an incident that occurred on Friday, April 21, around 11:06 pm.

On that night, police received a 911 call regarding a male shot at Myrtle Avenue and St. Edwards Street. Upon arrival, officers found Rmeek Lucas, a 21-year-old male, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and right leg.

Emergency services rushed Lucas to NY Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The arrest of Edwards signifies progress in the ongoing investigation. The New York City Police Department asked anyone with additional information to get in touch.
