Two Dead in D.C. Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A 29-year-old and a 19-year-old were shot and killed in Northwest D.C. Saturday night. Homicide detectives at the Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department are investigating the homicides.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting just before 10 pm at the 1400 block of Girard Street. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male victim with a gunshot wound. Not long after, a witness alerted the officers about a second shooting victim located one block away on the 1400 block of Fairmont Street, Northwest. Tragically, both victims lost their lives, succumbing to their injuries at the scene.

 29-year-old Luke Whitaker, of D.C., and 19-year-old Zion Hollingsworth-Hayes, of Maryland, have been identified as the victims.
