Utica Man Arrested After Brandishing Handgun in Parking Lot

UTICA, NY – Utica Police apprehended Ronald Tarver, a 35-year-old local resident, following a menacing incident that took place on Sunday.

Police units were dispatched at around 5:05 PM to the plaza located at 1100 Mohawk Street.

According to the victim’s statement, an encounter with a man driving a white vehicle in the parking lot led to the man brandishing a handgun and making threats before driving off. After learning the facts from the victim, patrol officers later located the vehicle on the 1500 block of Howard Avenue.

Two handguns were found in the vehicle during the course of the stop. After confirming Tarver was the suspect, he was detained and transported to the Utica Police Department.

He has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree and Menacing in the second degree.
