Fugitive Murder Suspect Captured for Barbershop Killing

DOVER, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested Jesean Coverdale, a 19-year-old from Milford, Delaware, in connection with a murder case dating back to May 2021.

The victim of the incident was Javon D. Jones, a 23-year-old patron of Uplift Barber Shop, Dover, where the shooting took place.

On Saturday, May 15, 2021, at around 5:42 pm, troopers were called to the scene of the shooting. Jones had been struck in the upper torso by multiple gunshots and was later declared dead at a local hospital.

In the course of the investigation, the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit identified two suspects, Kyree Robinson and Jesean Coverdale. Robinson was arrested on April 20, 2022.

On Tuesday, a traffic stop by Troop 3 Patrol led to the arrest of Coverdale, who was then charged with Murder First Degree and Conspiracy First Degree. He is currently held at Sussex Correctional Institution on an $85,000 cash bond.
