Newark Police Investigating Armed Robbery

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Public Safety Department seeks the public’s help in identifying a male suspect linked to an armed robbery that occurred on Thursday, July 6.

The incident took place at a 7-Eleven store on the 200 block of Elizabeth Avenue around 9:20 a.m.

According to the report, the suspect demanded cash from the store’s attendant at gunpoint before making off with approximately $4,000 from the register. The man then fled east on E. Runyon Street.

The suspect is described as a young, slim-built, Black male. At the time of the crime, he wore a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, black Jordan Retro sneakers, red gloves, and a white face mask.
