Fugitive in Year Old NYC Murder Case Nabbed in North Carolina

BROOKLYN, NY – A 43-year-old male from Greensboro, NC has been charged in relation to a year-old murder case. Leo Lewis was arrested and charged on Tuesday.

Lewis faces charges of murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

On Sunday, July 10, 2022, police received a 911 call reporting a male shot inside a residence at 10713 Flatlands Avenue. Upon their arrival, they discovered a 44-year-old male with gunshot wounds to his torso.

Identified as Zamel Myers, a resident of the same address, he was pronounced dead at the scene by Emergency Medical Services.

Lewis is now linked to this year-old case, and the arrest marks significant progress in the ongoing investigation. The Brooklyn Police Department continues to ask for any information related to the case, urging the public to get in touch.
