Utica Pulls Gun From Fanny Pack During Argument

UTICA, NY – Tyrell Morales, a 26-year-old resident of Utica, was arrested on Tuesday for brandishing a loaded handgun during an altercation.

Around 2:10 PM, Utica Police were dispatched to an address on the 1000 block of Kossuth Ave, following a report of a dispute possibly involving a firearm.

Upon arrival, officers interviewed the complainant, who claimed a handgun was displayed during an argument at the residence in question.

Officers then approached the residents after obtaining all relevant information. A search within the apartment uncovered a loaded 9mm handgun inside a fanny pack on a couch.

Morales was arrested and transported to the Utica Police Department, where he was charged with Criminal Possession of a weapon in the second degree, Criminal Possession of a weapon in the third degree, and Criminal Possession of a firearm.
