Police Seek Suspect in Violent June Robbery

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department’s robbery unit is seeking public assistance in identifying an individual connected to a robbery incident that took place on Friday, June 23.

At around 1:50 pm, a 36-year-old female was assaulted in front of 2450 Grand Concourse.

The individual, reportedly male with a medium complexion and slim build, attempted to forcibly remove the victim’s purse, threatening to hit her. The suspect was able to take the victim’s debit card and forcibly removed a chain from her neck after a brief struggle.

He then left the scene on foot, heading northbound on the Grand Concourse. The victim sustained scratches on her chest and neck but declined medical attention at the scene.

The New York City Police Department asked anyone with relevant information to come forward and contribute to the ongoing investigation. The suspect was last seen wearing a beige baseball hat, a black face mask, a black sweatshirt, a black t-shirt, blue jean shorts, and black sneakers.
