15-Year-Old Arrested for Attempted Murder in Times Square Shooting

NEW YORK CITY, NY – On Thursday, the New York City Police Department arrested a 15-year-old male in connection with an assault that occurred within the Midtown South area.

The teenager is now facing charges of attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession of a loaded firearm.

The incident took place on Monday, July 17, around 11:47 pm, when two groups entered into a dispute in front of 5 Times Square.

Amid the argument, an unknown individual fired a gun multiple times, injuring three young males. The victims, aged 16, 15, and 17, were hit in the thigh and arm.

The three injured teenagers were taken to different hospitals by EMS and private means, all in stable condition. The suspect, described as a light-complexioned male with his hair tied in a bun, wearing a white tank top and black shorts, was last seen entering the Times Square subway station.
