Maplewood Police Report Multiple Criminal Incidents

MAPLEWOOD, NJ – On July 20, the Maplewood Police Department responded to multiple incidents, beginning with a burglary report from Van Ness Court.

The resident discovered upon returning home around 10:11pm, that a first-floor rear window was off its track, and the rear door was ajar. The resident reported multiple sets of jewelry missing from the premises.

On the same day, the department was notified of a past tense vehicle rummage report. The complainant had left her grey 2014 Honda Accord unlocked in her driveway overnight. In the morning, she discovered that her vehicle had been rummaged through, although no items were reported missing.

Two days later, on July 22, the department received a report of malicious damage at The Maplewood Country Club. A silver Nissan SUV had driven through two sand traps, causing damage. The SUV then proceeded onto the grass course, exited through an open gate near Pierson Road and Burnet Street, and fled in an unknown direction.

All incidents are currently under investigation by the Maplewood Police Department’s Detective Bureau.
