Tragic Shooting Claims the Life of a 44-Year-Old Man in Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A 44-year-old man was shot and killed yesterday afternoon in Northeast D.C. The Homicide Branch of the Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department is investigating the shooting.

Just before 12:30 pm, officers arrived at the 1800 block of West Virginia Avenue to investigate a report of sounds of gunshots. When the officers arrived, they discovered an adult male who had been shot. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene, but unfortunately, the victim showed no signs of life. Despite this, the victim’s body was kept at the scene until it could be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The deceased individual has been identified as Russell Wiseman, a 44-year-old resident of Northeast, DC.
