COLUMBUS, OH – The Columbus Police Department reported the arrest of a 29-year-old male following a double homicide that took place in northeast Columbus.

Marquise Sheppard was taken into custody following a traffic stop conducted shortly after the fatal incident.

The shooting occurred in the 3200 block of Plum Creek Dr. on Monday. Patrol officers, upon arrival at the scene, found two adults suffering from gunshot wounds.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other died after being transported to a local hospital.

Detectives from the Homicide Bureau believe that an argument between Sheppard and the victims escalated to the fatal shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
