Police Seeking to Identify Newark Package Thief

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a theft case on July 28.

Around 12:02 pm, police responded to the incident which occurred in the 100 block of 12th Avenue.

The suspect, a Black male, was caught on surveillance footage removing packages from a front porch.

The suspect has long dreadlocks and was seen wearing a baseball cap with the letter “V”, a grey T-shirt, black shorts, and black sneakers. He was also carrying a black duffle bag.

Director Fragé encourages anyone with information about the suspect to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
