Hamilton Man Charged for Murder in West Windsor Township

MERCER COUNTY, NJ – Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri and West Windsor Police Chief Robert Garofalo made a joint announcement about a significant breakthrough in a murder case.

Denzel Whitmore, a 24-year-old resident of Hamilton, NJ, was arrested on charges related to the death of Elaine Murray.

Whitmore is charged with first-degree murder, felony murder, burglary, and tampering with evidence. He was arrested without incident in Hamilton Township on Thursday afternoon.

Murray, aged 71, was found deceased with visible signs of injuries to her face and a bleeding wound at the back of her head, in her Galston Drive residence on Wednesday evening.

The joint investigation, conducted by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the West Windsor Police Department, has culminated in the arrest.
