Man Assaulted by Sock Wielding Man on NYC Subway Train

NEW YORK CITY, NY – On Wednesday, at approximately 7:24 am, a 42-year-old man was assaulted on a southbound ‘5’ train, according to the New York City Police Department.

The incident started with a verbal dispute between the victim and an unidentified man.

The police report states that the suspect displayed a sock filled with an unknown hard object and used it to strike the victim multiple times in the face.

The attacker was last seen reboarding a northbound ‘5’ train. The victim was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.

The New York City Police Department requests assistance from the public in identifying the assailant. They encourage anyone with information to use the confidential tip line or the Crime Stoppers website to share their knowledge of the incident.
