Police Continue Search for Fugitive Shooted Still on the Loose

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé has requested the public’s help in identifying a male suspect associated with a shooting that occurred on Saturday, July 29.

Police were dispatched to North Munn Avenue near Tremont Avenue following a report of shots fired around 3:43 pm.

The male suspect was reported to have discharged a handgun multiple times. The suspect was wearing a blue and black hooded sweater, black pants, black ski mask, and white sneakers at the time of the incident.

Director Fragé asked anyone with information about the identity of the suspect to reach out to the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

The department assures that all anonymous Crime Stopper tips will remain confidential and could potentially result in a reward.
