MVA Leads to Power Outage, Closing of Hooper Avenue

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Police in Toms River diverted traffic away from a motor vehicle crash on Sunday that led to downed powerlines across Hooper Avenue, shutting down the road.

A traffic crash in Toms River hadresulted in a power outage in the area which has been plagued with several outages in recent weeks.

Police said a motor vehicle accident has caused wires to fall across Hooper Avenue near Southshore Drive, leading to the closure of Hooper Avenue in both directions.

Several traffic lights in the vicinity were not functioning due to the incident. Motorists were advised to avoid the affected area while workers cleared the scene and restore power to the traffic lights.

Police did not report any injuries in the crash.
